| THE KATZLER PAVILION
The history of the Katzler Pavilion starts in 1897, when the location of the Pavilion was defined by the decision of Royal Army Administration - "on a parcel south from the road near the former Rijeka gate".
Pavilion today remembers it's third century, courtships of Austro-Hungarian officers and Sunday walks on the promenade. It heard many sufferings, sweet love mysteries and hidden political intrigues. It stood there while Seljan brothers wandered around the world, Albert Einstein discovered his Relativity theory, and Wright brothers took their first flight in the airplane.
It has survived Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, SHS Kingdom, Independent State of Croatia and all of Yugoslaivas. It has survived a violent relocation by wooden wheelbarrow to the place near Karlovačka Banka, while somewhere in depths of the see sailed Nautilus.
Katzler Pavilion restoration was finished mostly on July 13th 2005, thanks to the Ministry of Culture, Conservation department Karlovac and City of Karlovac. Today it is left in the possession of the Katzler family heirs and Katzler Pavilion Association, and has become florist - exhibit store.
